Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24)

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Holy Spirit inspired me to treasure God’s crown jewels that He fashioned to help humanity fulfill our divine destiny.
Today’s scripture is Genesis 2:18 (NLT)…Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
Consider…
The “5 Ws and H” (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How) are foundational questioning techniques used to gather complete information, solve problems, or report news. They ensure all aspects of a situation—people, actions, time, location, purpose, and methods—are understood, effectively covering the crucial facts.
With that in mind today’s scripture reveals the fact that FEMALES WERE MADE to HELP.
To Help:
- Birth WHO God created us to be
- See WHAT God created us to do
- Listen WHEN God’s speaking
- Go WHERE God’s leading
- Remember WHY we’re here
- Know HOW to Trust, Obey and Loyally Love (TOLL) God
In my journey through the Bible this year, I have seen the great influence of women in helping people fulfill their destiny.
For example, we know and celebrate the greatness of King David, but if you look closely you’ll realize there were three women that directly influenced his destiny.
- First, Hannah prayed for AND dedicated a son (Samuel), who would become the prophet who anointed David to be King. 1 Samuel 1:11-28
- Second, when David was tempted to pridefully pumel his destiny over disrespect, Abigail interceded and reminded him who God anointed him to be. 1 Samuel 1:18-35
- Third, Bathsheba was both a victim and vessel of David’s legacy. As we know a major stain on David’s legacy was him taking Bathsheba and having her husband murdered. There were three victims of David’s lust, Bathsheba, her husband and her baby who both died. However Bathsheba was also the vessel whom Solomon, and ultimately Jesus, was also born. God transformed the victim of an unholy union into the vessel of His divine reunion with The Holy One Himself.
I could also have highlighted the loyalty of Jesus’ gentile foremother Ruth, David’s great-grandmother.
The point is the journey to Jesus came through the help of females.
That leads me to another beautiful passage of scripture that highlights females helping Jesus’ journey.
Luke 8:1-3 (NKJV) highlights…Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, [2] and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, [3] and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.
I discovered this passage while watching the drama series ‘The Chosen’ with my wife Dana. We both zoomed in on the woman included in Jesus’ entourage and full transparency wondered if the director took artistic license. But, alas the Holy Spirit bore witness that women were present and prominent in Jesus’ journey here on earth.
- Confirmed in Elizabeth’s womb Luke 1:41
- Birthed through the Virgin Mary Matthew 1:22-23
- Revealed by the Samaritan woman at the well John 4:29
- Trusted by the woman with the issue of blood Mark 5:27-29 and the gentile mother begging for crumbs Matthew 15:27-28
- Anointed for burial by his friend Mary (Lazarus’ sister) John 12:3-7
- Seen first after resurrection by Mary Magdalene and other women Luke 24:1-10
I could honestly go on and on with shout-outs to faithful and faith-filled females that helped the journey to and with Jesus, but there’s no need to belabor the obvious, God fashioned females to help!
I thank God for all of the females in my journey to and with Jesus! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Before I close, the Holy Spirit showed me something precious a long time ago, Genesis 1:27 (NLT) declares…So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
As a male, I understand being in the image of the God the Father and Jesus the Son, but the ‘Us’ God is speaking from includes the Holy Spirit. I believe in my sanctified imagination, females are the spitting image of the Holy Spirit.
Accordingly, it seem appropriate to end with a shout-out to the Holy Spirit as our ultimate Helper!
Jesus said in John 14:26 (NKJV)…But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Like the Holy Spirit, females were given to me by God to teach and remind me of who Jesus is and who I’m meant to be for Him.
Tangent epiphany: Solomon uses the female pronouns to describe wisdom in the book of Proverbs!
Lastly, the Holy Spirit reminded me that Romans 8:26 (NKJV) testifies…Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Along with the Holy Spirit, I have been blessed with women who have helped me in my weakness and interceded on my behalf. I thank God for them and the women who still do.
My list of female helpers include my mom Cynthia and Big Momma, sister Renee, precious Aunt Winnie, God Momma Lois, treasured Aunt Bertha, my friends mom’s Meadows, Foster and Moses, my favor found wife Dana, Mother-in-law Yasmine, Beloved mother-in-love Ann, sisters-in-Christ Tambria and Mary and a host of others too numerous to list.
For all the fashioned females faithfully fulfilling their helping purpose in my life, thank you and God bless you!
