God’s SWAT Response To Crisis (2026-02-13)

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24)

The Holy Spirit unearthed today’s Spiritual GEM regarding God’s unique instructions for believers in response to crisis.

Today’s scripture, Ephesians 6:10-13 (NLT) instructs…A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. [11] Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. [12] For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. [13] Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Consider…
Most people are familiar with SWAT, which stands for Special Weapons And Tactics, referring to elite, highly trained police units within law enforcement agencies designed to handle high-risk operations exceeding the capabilities of regular patrol officers. They specialize in resolving critical incidents like hostage rescues, barricaded suspects, counter-terrorism, and serving high-risk warrants.

According to AI Overview, the SWAT team is deployed for barricaded suspects, active shooters, armed standoff situations, and high-risk warrant service.

For the purpose of safely resolving dangerous, critical, or armed confrontations, often using specialized equipment and tactics to minimize casualties.

The Holy Spirit shined a spotlight on God’s SWAT response to dangerous situations in the life of believers. God wants us to…

Stand
Wait
And
Trust

…in Him!

Battle warrior King David advises in Psalms 37:7-9 (NLT)…Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. [8] Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. [9] For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land.

In my journey through Book One of the Psalms, I am seeing the consistent tactic of David in the face of personal crisis was Standing, Waiting and Trusting in the LORD to fight his battles.

I imagine David often referenced Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV) for encouragement in the midst of his dire straits, many of which were self-induced. It says…Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. [14] The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Notice, the LORD told His people to Stand Still and let Him fight for them. The LORD’s message to His chosen people (believers in Jesus Christ) hasn’t changed!

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NLT) engenders even more confidence by pointing out…Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. [29] He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. [30] Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. [31] But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

So every time we find ourselves in crisis circumstances or stressful situations, let’s remember like David to deploy God’s SWAT Response…

Stand firmly
Wait
patiently
And
Trust
exclusively

…in the LORD!

Today’s song is…
