God’s Unfailing Love And Faithfulness Through Jesus Christ (2025-09-19)

Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today the Holy Spirit showed me something new, which is that God expressed His unfailing love and faithfulness through Jesus Christ.

Today scripture, John 1:17-18 (NLT)…
[17] For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. [18] No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

Consider…
The more we read God’s word, the more hidden nuggets we discover. Today’s scripture is an example, it expressly states that Jesus was the delivery system of God’s unfailing love and faithfulness!

I don’t recall reading that before, but when I found it today, I was amazed at how God continually revealed how Jesus was the fulfillment of His heart for us.

Part of my amazement was due to the many Psalms that highlight and honor God’s unfailing love and faithfulness, like the one I used yesterday. Recall, Psalms 117:1-2 (NLT) said…
[1] Praise the LORD, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth. [2] For his unfailing love for us is powerful; the LORD’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the LORD!

Linking today’s scripture with these verses makes me think, we should praise God for Jesus, who is the LORD’s proof of His unfailing love and faithfulness.

The Holy Spirit reiterated that truth with 1 John 4:9-10 (NLT), which says…
[9] God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. [10] This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Jesus is the demonstration of God’s unfailing love and faithfulness. 🤯

As I thought of that, I searched and found Psalms 86:15 (NLT), which testifies…
[15] But you, O LORD, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

That’s a perfect description of Jesus!

Continuing to connect the dots, the Holy Spirit sent me to Titus 3:3-7 (NIV), which explains…
[3] At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. [4] But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, [5] he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, [6] whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, [7] so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Notice we’re saved because of God’s heart. It’s God’s unfailing love that made allowance for our failings.

That’s why 1 Peter 4:8 (NLT) emphasizes…
[8] Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

I usually hear people say we’re covered by the our Savior’sblood, I would like to suggest we also acknowledge we’re covered His unfailing love!

As I read today’s scripture again, I noted the distinction made between the law of Moses and the unfailing love and faithfulness of God through Christ. That distinction could suggest a disconnect, however Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-18 (NLT)…
[17] “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. [18] I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

You see God knew that only His unfailing love and faithfulness could rebuild the broken relationship caused by sin. Unfortunately our Creator knew that we would need to be recreated to in Jesus to become what He always wanted us to be.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) explains…
[10] For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

God’s plan and desire for us has never changed, He just needed to carry it out through Jesus.

That’s why in Jesus’ prayer in John 17:4 (NLT) He said…
[4] I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

In fact a few chapters earlier, in John 6:38-40 (NLT) Jesus acknowledged…
[38] For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. [39] And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. [40] For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

You see the same unfailing love and faithfulness of God that made Him give His Son, made the Son give His life. Let me remind you Jesus said in John 10:17-18 (NLT)…
[17] “The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. [18] No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”

I could go on and on about this harmonious unfailing love and faithfulness of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but all the that’s left to do is echo the lyrics from today’s song…

Lord I owe all my life to thee
For what you’ve done
To set me free
No one else could pay
What you pay for me
Lord I owe all
My life
It’s yours Lord I owe it all
It’s yours Lord I owe it all to thee

We must never underestimate or underappreciate the unfailing love and faithfulness of God given through Jesus Christ our Lord!

By the way, Christ atoning blood that…

  • always save
  • never fails,
  • and never loses it’s power

…flows from God’s unfailing love and faithfulness!

Today’s song is…
I Owe It All

Blessings 4HG (1 Corinthians 10:31)
