Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today let’s give more love to the Holy Lamb of God!
Today’s scripture, Revelation 15:3-4 NLT
[3] And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations. [4] Who will not fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed.”
Consider…
Yesterday we focused on saying Holy to the Lamb of God. But it occurs to me that before we can tell Him that He’s Holy, we must believe it.
In today’s scripture, we see exaltation lyrics to the ‘song of the Lamb’. Here they are in choir rehearsal form…
Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty.
Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous deeds have been revealed.
And then I hear Oletta Adams singing a refrain…
Holy is the Lamb
Ho-ol-ly is the Lamb
I believe Choir director extraordinaire, Kirk Franklin, wants to teach us another song of love and adoration to the Lamb of God. Here are some of the lyrics…
now behold the Lamb
(Thank You) the Precious Lamb of God
Born into sin that I may live again
The Precious Lamb of God (repeat)
Holy is the Lamb
The Precious Lamb of God
Why You love me so, Lord
I shall never know (repeat)
Thank You for the Lamb (thank You for the Lamb of God)
The Precious Lamb of God (You are the Lamb of God)
Because of Your grace
I can finish this race
The Precious Lamb of God (Lamb of God)
Even when I broke, broke Your heart
My sins tore us apart
But I’m standing right here
In the midst of my tears
I claim You to be the Lamb of God
New life can begin (yeah)
(You washed away all my sins)
For You washed away, washed away every one of my sins
(Whom the Son sets free)
Whom the Son sets free, is truly free indeed
I claim You to be the Lamb of God
Now behold the Lamb
The Precious Lamb of God
(Born into) born into sin that I may live again
The Precious Lamb of God
Why You love me so, Lord
I shall never know (never know)
(Why You love me so)
(Why You love me so)
(I’ll never know)
Why You love me so, Lord
I shall never know
(Lamb, I really never knew)
(I never knew, oh never knew)
(Never knew, no no no)
Why You love me so, Lord
I shall never know
The Precious Lamb of God
Although we’ve not made it to Thanksgiving, I encourage you to go listen to this Christmas masterpiece again. 🎶
Let’s read Leviticus 14:12-13 (NLT) to understand the importance of the lamb to God. Before Christ, God required…
[12] The priest will take one of the male lambs and the olive oil and present them as a guilt offering, lifting them up as a special offering before the Lord. [13] He will then slaughter the male lamb in the sacred area where sin offerings and burnt offerings are slaughtered. As with the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest. It is a most holy offering.
This shows us our Holy God always required a holy offering to remove the guilt and sins of an unholy people.
Knowing the importance of a Holy offering to God, let’s now read Hebrews 9:11-15 (NLT), which says…
[11] So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. [12] With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. [13] Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. [14] Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. [15] That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
The synopsis of this passage is found in verse 14 where it says, “Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.” But recall, we read in the Leviticus passage that the guilt and sin offering must be holy. Well if Christ is the perfect sacrifice for our sins, then He must be perfectly Holy!
Once again, I hear Oletta Adams singing…
Holy is the Lamb
Ho-ol-ly is the Lamb
Doubling down on the importance of Christ, the Holy Lamb, the Holy Spirit led me to Hebrews 10:14-18 (NLT) which
explains…
[14] For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy. [15] And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, [16] “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” [17] Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” [18] And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
Two things stand out from this passage.
- The first is that one offering forever MADE PERFECT THOSE WHO ARE BEING MADE HOLY. Like a ‘made man’ in the Italian Mafia, Christ has fully initiated us as children of our Holy Heavenly Father. (Hebrews 2:11-13).
- when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. Christ’s sacrifice settled the debt of sin once and for all. (Hebrews 7:27)
…Christ, the Holy Lamb of God, is the perfect sacrifice for all sin! Like 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT) says…
[21] For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
Can you hear Oletta singing…
Holy is the Lamb
Ho-ol-ly is the Lamb
Perhaps it would help if I remind you that the original requirements for the angel of death to passover God’s chosen people was the blood of an unblemished lamb over the doorpost of their home.
Exodus 12:21-23 (NLT) shares…
[21] Then Moses called all the elders of Israel together and said to them, “Go, pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families, and slaughter the Passover animal. [22] Drain the blood into a basin. Then take a bundle of hyssop branches and dip it into the blood. Brush the hyssop across the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses. And no one may go out through the door until morning. [23] For the Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the Lord will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your house and strike you down.
The Holy Spirit just showed me some new applications of the first passover that should be applied in our relationship with Christ.
- The blood covered the entryway into the people’s home. Christ blood must cover the entryway into our lives, which is our mind. Consider Ephesians 6:17 tells us to put on the ‘helmet of salvation’. Let Christ’s blood cover your minds and flow through your heart.
- The Lord will not permit the angel of death to enter and claim the home of those covered by the unblemished blood of the lamb. Hebrews 10:19-20 (NLT) says…[19] And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. [20] By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
…appreciate our salvation and protection are found in the blood of the Holy Lamb of God. Therefore, I encourage you to remain immersed in Christ’s blood always.
That’s because as the hymn says…
There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
And…
Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransomed ones of God
Be saved, to sin no more:
Be saved, to sin no more,
Be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed ones of God,
Be saved to sin no more.
Had to include…
E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
And shall be till I die,
And shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.
…yet again I hear sister Oletta singing…
Holy is the Lamb
Ho-ol-ly is the Lamb
Today’s post is simple and pure, before you tell the Lamb He’s Holy, know and believe it with your whole heart!
Today’s Song is…
Holy Is The Lamb
