Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today let’s appreciate God revealing His decisions to the Righteous.
Today’s scripture, Genesis 6:9-13 (NLT), shares…
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. Noah was the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!
Consider…
Sometimes trying to live right while watching others get away with doing wrong can be frustrating. Like the Psalmist in Psalms 94:3-5 (NLT), who said…
How long, O Lord? How long will the wicked be allowed to gloat? How long will they speak with arrogance? How long will these evil people boast? They crush your people, Lord, hurting those you claim as your own.
…Sometimes God’s children feel like unchecked wickedness is unfair and demoralizing.
Also at times salty saints get so frustrated that they question God, like the Psalmist in Psalms 82:2 (NLT), which says…
“How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked?
It’s amazing how people want God’s justice or grace when it benefits them. Meaning, when saints sin, they want grace, but when they’re sinned against they want justice.
Allow me to share a couple of answers God gives to our questions.
First, in Matthew 5:44-45 (NLT) admonished…
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.
Rather than asking God to deal with your enemies, Jesus says that you need to have more of His unconditional love. That tells me, when evil is happening around or to you, pray for more of God’s love.
Second, the Holy Spirit reminded me of what Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14-15 (NLT), when He said…
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Be careful pointing the fingers at those who you want God to exact His righteous justice upon, because the three pointing back at you can get you caught up in His vengeance.
Speaking of God’s vengeance, the Apostle Paul exhorts us in Romans 12:19 (AMP)…
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
The Holy Spirit is saying, leave the payback to God.
Rather than stressing and obsessing about God not addressing wickedness, find solace in the blessing found in Galatians 6:7-9 (NLT) which says…
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Don’t focus on wanting God to punish others for doing wrong, rather look forward to God rewarding you for doing right.
In today’s scripture, notice we first read about Noah being righteous and walking with God. I don’t read where Noah complained about the wickedness and evil all around him. But I do read where God saw it and told Noah what He’s going to do about.
Today, focus on doing right in God’s eyes and know that He sees all the wrong going on around you. Like He did with Noah, God will address the wrong and bless the right. Just make sure you’re included in God’s righteousness blessing and not His wickedness addressing.
When everything around you seems to be going wrong, remind yourself that we gon’ be alright.
Today’s song is…
We Gon’ Be Alright
Blessings 4HG (1 Corinthians 10:31)
