Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today, let’s meditate on God’s faithfulness.
Today’s scripture, 1 Kings 18:36-39 (NLT), says…
At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.” Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench! And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!”

Today’s song is in regular rotation on my playlist. It includes a line that says, “He’s been my fourth man in the fire, time after time”. That line is fire 🔥🔥🔥. So is, “I know the author of tomorrow has ordered my steps”! The chorus says…
I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail
This song inspired today’s encouragement.
I have a general rule of thumb, that I do my best to adhere to. Don’t use word absolutes like ‘never’ and ‘always’. However, both words best describe the faithfulness of God! 2 Timothy 2:13 (AMP) testifies…
If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.
That means regardless of us, God is always true to His nature. He’ll never deny who He is, regardless of who or how we are.
There’s some lyrics to another song, that repeat in my mind as I meditate on the faithfulness of God. They testify…
As I look back over my life
I can see how Your love has guided me
Even though I’ve done wrong
You never left me alone
But You forgave me
And You kept on blessing
This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope
It’s because of Your mercy that we are not consumed
Because Thy compassions fail not, they are new every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness…
These lyrics come directly from Lamentations 3:21-23.
Two songs mixing in my mind, both proclaiming the faithfulness of God. This inspires me to search the Psalms for acknowledgements of God faithful unfailing love, and faithfulness in general. Here’s a handful I quickly found…
- Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! – Psalms 63:3 NLT
- Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. – Psalms 89:2 NLT
- Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. – Psalms 66:20 NLT
- For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. – Psalms 108:4 NLT
- For his unfailing love for us is powerful; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord! – Psalms 117:2 NLT
It’s good to be reminded that we serve a God whose love never fails, even though more often than not we fail Him. Indeed that our flawless Heavenly Father loved us unconditionally, flaws and all! (Romans 5:8)
Today’s encouragement is short and sweet, as you pray trust the unfailing love and faithfulness of God! Trusting the unconditional nature of God will unburden us from the guilt of sin conditions.
Have you ever thought how Jesus had to be broken to make us whole? (2 Corinthians 5:21). Could it be God was emphasizing our relationship with Him is not limited by our brokenness, but instead fueled by His unfailing love and faithfulness?
When you trust that God will ‘never’ stop loving you, and ‘always’ be faithful towards you, your prayers will be filled with faith and hope. That’s because you will realize that your praying to you’re Heavenly Father, who loves you unconditionally, and will be there for you faithfully.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather trust in God’s unfailing love and faithfulness, than fail by putting my faith in incapable and unreliable alternatives, including myself.
Trust in God! He will never fail!
Today’s song is….
Trust In God
Blessings 4HG (1 Corinthians 10:31)
