Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Reminder, we know the Holy Spirit convicts the world (John 16:8) of:
- It’s Sin
- God’s Righteousness
- And choosing certain Judgment
Today we’ll look at the Holy Spirit’s third and final conviction, which is the choice of certain judgment.
In today’s scripture, John 16:11 (AMP), Jesus said…
about judgment [the certainty of it], because the ruler of this world (Satan) has been judged and condemned.
Consider…
We have finished our review of the Holy Spirit’s first two transcripts regarding His case against sin and the misunderstood righteousness requirement. Prayerfully, both helped you see that God is imploring us to believe and accept His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Today we turn to the final page and conviction, which pertains to God’s certain judgment happening.
The Holy Spirit began His final conviction argument with a declaration that “choices have consequences”.
The first scriptural support for this declaration came from John 3:18-19 (ERV)…
People who believe in God’s Son are not judged guilty. But people who do not believe are already judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son. They are judged by this fact: The light has come into the world. But they did not want light. They wanted darkness, because they were doing evil things.
Based on these two verses, the Holy Spirit pointed out God’s judgement is based solely on an individual choosing to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord or not. That’s because, accepting Jesus Christ as Lord is choosing the Light of Heaven, which is the only way to eternal life with God (John 14:6).
Next, the Holy Spirit played a video evidence, from Choose Right productions. The video was of Jesus’ recorded affidavit of what choosing Him really means…
Then Jesus said loudly, “Everyone who believes in me is really believing in the one who sent me. Everyone who sees me is really seeing the one who sent me. I came into this world as a light. I came so that everyone who believes in me will not stay in darkness. “I did not come into the world to judge people. I came to save the people in the world. So I am not the one who judges those who hear my teaching and do not obey. But there is a judge for all those who refuse to believe in me and do not accept what I say. The message I have spoken will judge them on the last day. – John 12:44-48 ERV
A couple of things stood out in the video:
- Choosing Jesus is choosing God. By contrast, rejecting Him is rejecting God.
- Choosing Jesus is choosing to see. By contrast, rejecting Him is choosing to remain blatantly blind.
- Choosing Jesus is choosing to be saved. By contrast, rejecting Him is choosing to perish.
What I found most compelling from the video, is Jesus closing statement that His message will judge those who reject Him on the last day. In other words, there will be no new testimony offered on judgement day, just a simple question will be asked. “Did you choose life (believing Jesus Christ as Lord) or death (rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord)?” Your answer, will be your judgement.
The Holy Spirit showed me that perhaps the choice confusion is that people think God is asking a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question, when in fact is He’s asking everyone to choose when they want to live and die. Seeing the confusion on my face He continued, I inspired the Apostle Paul to write…
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20 NLT
And, Galatians 5:24-25 (ERV), which says…
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their sinful self. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do. We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit.
He then explained, crucified with Christ on earth is dying to self in order to live for and with Him. And the Holy Spirit gave me a math equation from Hebrews 9:27 (ERV), which states…
Everyone must die once. Then they are judged.
The Holy Spirit said, if you get to judgement with no death on your ledger, what does the math tell you? I said, that I must die? He said, “exactly!”. But the math lesson didn’t stop there, He said…
- Dying for Christ here on earth, equals living with Him forever
- However, living for self here on earth, equals dying separated from Christ forever.
Then He asked me, “does that make sense?” I nodded yes and restated what I understood. I said, You’re telling me die now, to myself here on earth, and live forever…OR…Live now, for myself here on earth, and die forever. To which, the Holy Spirit said, “you got it”.
After the lesson, the Holy Spirit then looked at those still contemplating their choice, and said “the choice is eternal life or death and it’s your’s alone.”
Then the Holy Spirit closed His argument with Jesus’ beautiful transforming words…
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him. – John 3:16-17 AMP
Embedded in this beautiful love expression from Jesus, is the fact that certain final judgement is coming. But thanks be to God, Romans 8:1 (ERV) promises…
So now anyone who is in Christ Jesus is not judged guilty.
With that He looked everyone individually in the eye and said choose.
- Light or Darkness
- Temporal or Eternal
- Life or Death
- Salvation in Christ or Condemnation with Satan
Here’s the irony, no matter what you choose, God simply honors your choice. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. Therefore, choose wisely, because you will be judged accordingly.
Today’s Song…
I Choose You
Blessings 4HG (1 Corinthians 10:31)
