Led By Integrity (2024-03-07)

Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today let’s unpack wisdom from Proverbs regarding integrity.

In today’s scripture, Proverbs 11:3 (AMP), we’re advised…
The integrity and moral courage of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.

Consider…
The phrasing in today’s verse is intriguing, because it says “the integrity and moral courage of the upright”. When I looked at other translations, I saw the word honesty, replace integrity and moral courage. That made me pause and look up the definition of integrity.

Oxford Languages defines integrity as, the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Applying this definition, the verse is saying an upright person is led by their honesty, moral principles and courage.

As I wrote that, I was still a little unclear, so I looked up the word honest, which Oxford Languages defines as, free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere.

That helps! An upright person is free of deceit and untruthfulness, and must then be led by the truth. And where do we find truth? In God’s Word. This leads me to Psalms 119:105 (NLT), which says…
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Merge that verse with today’s, I get, an upright person is led by God’s word.

That’s easy to understand.

But how does, should, God’s word guide us? Well 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) informs us…
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

You see God’s word is honest and morally principled. When we courageously follow it, we are led along His path of righteousness.

As we navigate through this daily life here on earth, it’s important to follow God’s word, because Jesus said…
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. – Matthew 7:13 NLT

The Holy Spirit just pointed out, paths lead somewhere, and earth is simply a path to eternity, thus why it’s important we follow the right one. By the way, He also reminded me that He knows the way to God’s Kingdom and will personally guide us in following the map, which is God’s Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE).

Lastly, the Holy Spirit left me with the following wisdom…
Following God’s written word (Bible), leads us to His living Word (Jesus)! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Today’s song is…
I Stand On Your Word

Blessings 4HG (1 Corinthians 10:31)
