Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Today let’s see what our Omniscient Lord tells us.
In today’s scripture, John 15:15 (NLT), Jesus said…
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
Consider…
These lyrics from Kirk Franklin’s ‘In Your Grace’ ballad to Jesus…
How could someone like you, love someone like me
Full of mistakes and insecurity,
When you look in my heart, tell me what do you see, that makes you
love me so?
Is it the nails that pierced in your side?Or the moment you dropped your
head and you died,
For a sinner like me, you gave up your life;
These lyrics capture the feelings of many believers like myself. It is unfathomable how Jesus could know our wicked hearts and still love us. Or how He could remain faithful to us even when we’re unfaithful to Him. It’s unexplainable, the way He could love the most unlovable. Yet, Romans 5:6-8 (ERV) says…
Christ died for us when we were unable to help ourselves. We were living against God, but at just the right time Christ died for us. Very few people will die to save the life of someone else, even if it is for a good person. Someone might be willing to die for an especially good person. But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.
Jesus knew we were living against Him and rather than justly judge us, He justifyingly died for us. 💝 What amazing love and grace! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
As I meditated on Jesus’ embrace in the midst of our disgrace, my mind went to the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. I hear Jesus telling Him, I know you have a heart for God, but you’re killing Me, the One who died for you. (Acts 9:3-6)
Remembering Paul, began a roll call of people who had ‘know and tell’ encounters with Jesus…
- The Samaritan woman from the well who testified “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” – John 4:29 NLT
- Or Judas, whose feet Jesus washed and who was allowed to participate, unworthily, in the first communion. The one who asked “Teacher, surely I am not the one you are talking about, am I?” Jesus answered, “Yes, it is you.” (Matthew 26:25 ERV)
- And his fellow disciple Peter, who Jesus warned that Satan wanted to test his faith, and that he would deny knowing Him in Luke 22:31-34 ERV. He also told him that He prayed for him not to lose his faith and that he would strengthen his fellow believers when he came back to Him.
- Then there’s the time Jesus used a child to respond to His disciples thoughts of who would be the greatest in His kingdom. He told them the last shall be first and the least shall be the greatest. – Luke 9:46-48 NLT
These are just a few examples from Jesus’ ‘know and tell’ diary of love and grace. There are countless other including yours and mine.
In closing, I am reminded of Jerry Bridges quote that, “Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.”
So remember, God knows us better than we know ourselves. And Jesus, who is God, Omniscient, All Telling, says although we’re fully known, we’re still loved by Him! Talk about ridiculous grace! 💝
