On this Valentine’s Day, where gifts of love are given, let’s give some love to the Giver Of All Things! 💝

Today’s scripture is James 1:17 (AMP), which declares…
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].

Consider…
Yesterday we unwrapped God’s presence being the Gift Of All Time. Today, we appreciate Him for being the Giver Of All Things! 💝

Things like…

• His only begotten Son (John 3:16) 💝
• Salvation (Ephesians 2:8) 💝
• Eternal life (Romans 6:23) 💝
• Peace of mind and heart (John 14:27) 💝
• Power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) 💝
• And the Holy Spirit, which is ours for the asking (Luke 11:13) 💝

In addition to these good and perfect gifts, God gave us spiritual leaders. Ephesians 4:11‭-‬13 (NLT) shares…
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Although we know human beings are not perfect, we know that when God uses them He makes they’re work good. Exhibit A is the Bible, which while written by flawed men like Moses, Solomon, Peter and Paul, still its good for us all. That’s because 2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17 (NLT) says…
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

This tells me that, God gave flawed messengers to give His flawless message to flawed people. He gave us His word in ways we could comprehend by people we could identify with and understand. I guess, He gave us the perfect imperfect people to help perfect us for Him! 💝

Lastly, 1 Corinthians 12:4‭, ‬7‭-‬11 (NLT) shares individual gifts God gives…
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

The Holy Spirit is guiding me to leave you with one very important point about God’s gifts. Romans 11:36 (AMP) says…
For from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen.
