Welcome to another day the Lord has made that we should rejoice and be glad in. (Psalms 118:24)

Let’s close the week looking at a key to keeping anxiety away. The Bible tells us to PRAY (Proactively Release Anxiety to Yeshua).
Today’s scripture is Philippians 4:6 (AMP), which exhorts…
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
Consider…
This week we:
- Identified prayer as God’s prescription to prevent anxiety
- Examined anxiety, as a test of our faith
- Spoke an encouraging word, has the power to silence anxiety
- Spotted Jesus as our anxiety weight lifter, as He patiently waits for us to ask Him for help
- Clarified the misguided thinking of ‘Productivity Anxiety’, which says we’re unworthy and undeserving of God’s love and grace.
Prayerfully, one of those posts encouraged and equipped you to deal with a personal anxiety.
Today, the Holy Spirit is circling us back to the start of the week, and exhorting us to PRAY anxiety away.
In the beginning of this post I offered the following acronym for PRAY, Proactively Releasing Anxiety to Yeshua (Jesus). To make sure it aligns with God’s word, I looked for validating scriptures. Here’s some I found:
- Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail). – Psalms 55:22 AMP
- And my good friend, Big T’s goto encouragement scripture, 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) says, “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”
- Lastly, my best friend, Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
Today’s encouragement is short and sweet, God tells us to…
- Trust Him with our troubles.
- Entreat Him to help us endure
- Let Him work through our worries
- Look to Him to see us through our anxieties
When we PRAY, we TELL God, here’s everything! That’s exactly what we’re encouraged to do in Hebrews 4:16 (NLT), which says…
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Our final confirmation that God wants to PRAY our anxiety away, is found in these lyrics…
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
Whenever anxiety comes, PRAY it away!
Today’s song is…
